The 14th International Workshop on Advanced Infrared Technology and Applications, AITA 2017, was hold from September 27 to September 29, 2017 while IEEE Women in Engineering along with IEEE young professional Quebec section were presented in the exhibition hall of AITA 2017 for promoting good works and increasing the activities of IEEE members in the scientific societies.

Campagne de sensibilisation – Femmes et STIM
The team from the Chair for Women in Science and Engineering in Quebec wants to educate girls and their families to careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). To this end, we have planned an awareness campaign via social networks.
This campaign will take place on 10 November. You are invited to take part in the event via your social networks. Indeed, throughout the day, students and women in STEM are encouraged to publish a picture of her, alone or in groups, holding a sheet explaining why she changes the world as a part of their duties with the word #STIM for a Better World.

25th anniversary of the École Polytechnique de Montréal tragedy ( Action to prevent violence against women)

To highlight the 12 days of activism against violence against women and the 25th anniversary of the Polytechnique tragedy, Claire Bonenfant Chair-Women, Knowledge and society, Le Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire sur la violence familiale et la violence faite aux femmes (CRI-VIFF), le Regroupement des maisons pour femmes victimes de violence conjugale and IEEE WIE Quebec, invite you on December 4th, from 10am to 16h, at the Atrium Jean-Guy Paquet Pavilion Pollack.
An art exhibition to denounce violence against women and to propose alternatives will be presented. Come visit and make it your contribution!
The exhibition will be officially opened from 11:30.
