IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists and inspiring girls around the world to follow their academic interests to a career in engineering. The mission of IEEE WIE is to facilitate the global recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines. IEEE WIE envisions a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity. IEEE WIE Quebec affinity group is a voluntary group which formed in Quebec section, Laval University. Purpose of this group is to facilitate the recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines in Quebec and Canada and inspiring girls to follow their academic interests to a career in engineering and STEM-related fields.
IEEE WIE strives to:
- Recognize outstanding women in engineering and science.
- Organize receptions at major technical conferences to enhance networking and to promote membership in WIE;
- Facilitate the development of programs and activities that promote the entry into and retention of women in engineering programs;
The operation of the IEEE WIE Quebec Section is managed by the section committee, whose members are elected/ appointed.
